Skills of Reading 

Reading proficiency requires that each student develop a specific set of foundational skills. 

Students who develop a sufficient set of skills become proficient in reading.

Students who struggle with proficiency have a deficiency in one or more key skill areas--The Skill Gap.

​Additionally, students who struggle may be impacted by life factors that make learning more challenging.
